In 2010-2011, the Centre for Studies on Human Stress (CSHS) received an infrastructure grant from the Canadian Foundation for Innovation to set up a laboratory to analyze hormones related to stress. Since that time, the Centre has developed the CSHS BioAssay Lab, a laboratory to analyze saliva and hair samples for the various hormones related to human stress.
The CSHS BioAssay Lab is a member of the Salimetrics Centre of Excellence Program, thus ensuring that our laboratory delivers high quality results on par with the Salimetrics Core Lab. Researchers can be confident that the CSHS Analysis Laboratory maintains the same rigorous collection and testing standards found at Salimetrics.
As well, the CSHS developed a partnership with the Signature Centre of the Research Centre at the Montreal Mental Health University Institute in order to set up a biorepository to be used by scientists across the world. This facility is available to provide long-term storage of any leftover biospecimens analyzed at the CSHS BioAssay Lab, for future analyses of new biomarkers associated with stress and/or mental health.
