Currently studying at the University of Montreal, I am in my final year of my bachelor’s degree in cognitive neuroscience within the Honors program. With a passion for the brain and psychology, I had the opportunity to be part of the Center for studies on human stress for more than 2 years, where I have collaborated on many projects. Currently, I am working on two projects simultaneously – one of which is on the impact of positive news on the stress response. To date, no study has explored this subject. Therefore, it will be interesting to see the results of this project in order to raise awareness within different media platforms of the impact that news can have on the health of the population. For my Honors thesis, I will focus on the various beliefs people have about stress. Do you think stress is useful? Or do you think it is debilitating? This is called a stress mindset. In this project, I will investigate if these mindsets vary according to whether we consider ourselves a “Zen” or “Stressed out” person. This project will allow me to complete my bachelor’s degree and who knows, to perhaps pursue graduate studies in psychology!
